Meet Desirée

Get to know our team member Desirée, who works with logistics and planning. Desirée keeps track of both production and deliveries – a job that requires an overview perspective, strong collaboration skills, and a good dose of stress tolerance.

Hi there, Desirée! What does a typical workday look like for you?

I keep track of deliveries, book transports, and make sure that what’s produced is delivered on time. I plan what runs in the machines, follow up on ongoing jobs, and send materials for surface treatment. In short, I have a full overview of production and logistics.

How did you end up working at Kils Automatsvarvning?

I started in July last year. I’d worked with similar tasks before, but since I live in Kil, it felt perfect to get a job close to home. A former colleague told me about the position, and when I saw the ad, I immediately thought, “This is my job.” After a few interviews, things moved quickly – and here I am.

What qualities are most important in your role?

Being able to handle stress and see the bigger picture. I also believe a lot in being humble and working together – you can’t just point fingers and push people around. Sometimes you need to re-prioritize, and that means solving problems together with the production team.

What are the biggest challenges – and what’s the most fun?

The challenge is getting everything ready on time, especially when material is missing or when you need to stop a run to prioritize something else. The most fun part is, of course, when everything falls into place and the delivery goes out exactly as planned.

What do you appreciate most about working at Kils Automatsvarvning?

Mainly the colleagues and the atmosphere. We do a lot together, both at and outside of work – after-work gatherings, and we often have barbecues at the workplace during the summer. We also take walks every day, which is a nice break. We’re a small, family-like team – something I really value.

And what do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I have two kids, aged 10 and 12, so a lot revolves around their activities – football, floorball, dance, and guitar. It’s fun to be involved and meet other parents. I like spending time with family and friends, trave
